NUOVA CAMPAGNOLA
€150.00

Nuova Campagnola (SCV 1)
1980 Fiat 1107
Hand built in England by Brooklin Models

The Fiat Campagnola was donated by the Fiat personnel to Pope John Paul II during his visit to Turin on the 13th of April 1980.  On May 12th the Campagnola was registered with plates SCV I and then mainly used for the official ceremonies in San Peter’s Square. In fact John Paul II was on board this Campagnola when he was attacked the  13th May 1981. The car, in accordance with the Pope’s wishes, remained in service even after this dramatic episode, despite the misgivings of the security staff, because it allowed him closer contact with the faithful. The car is now shown in the Padiglione delle Carrozze of the Vatican Museums.

“The proceeds related to the sale of the Campagnola will be donated to the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome”
