1938 BUICK LIMITED (SCV 15)
SERIES 90L LIMOUSINE
Hand built in England by Brooklin Models

Pope Pius XI had a passion for American Cars and this Buick Limited was his personal choice. The Holy Father originally favoured the Graham Paige of !929, but in 1932 he orderered the acquisition of Buicks and Cadillacs for the official services. When this imposing Buick Limousine arrived in the Vatican, as a tradition dictated, it went to the  San Damaso Court for the presentation ceremony to the Pope. The new car certainly wasn’t a disappointment. It carried dignitaries and paraded in Vatican events under the Pontificate of four Popes, coming to the end of its long career in 1966.
